Based on Chazz Palminteri's autobiographical one-man show and the 1993 Robert De Niro film, this coming-of-age musical is set in the Italian-American Bronx during the 1960s. It tells the story of young Calogero, torn between the honest values of his bus driver father and the seductive world of Sonny, the charismatic neighborhood mob boss who takes him under his wing. With music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, the show explores love, loyalty, and the choices that define a life.
