A three-time Tony Award nominee, Uranowitz has established himself as a formidable talent in the world of musical theatre.

Uranowitz's Broadway debut came in 2011 with the role of Mark in the revival of Rent. His breakthrough performance, however, arrived in 2015 when he portrayed the endearing Adam Hochberg in the acclaimed production of An American in Paris. This role earned him his first Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, showcasing his remarkable ability to blend emotional depth with musical prowess.

In 2016, Uranowitz continued to garner critical acclaim for his role as Mendel Weisenbachfeld in the revival of Falsettos. His heartfelt and nuanced performance as the neurotic psychiatrist earned him his second Tony nomination, solidifying his reputation as a master of character-driven roles.

Uranowitz's impressive range was further displayed in 2019 when he took on the role of Larry in the revival of Burn This, opposite Adam Driver and Keri Russell. His portrayal of the complex and conflicted character was lauded by critics and audiences alike, demonstrating his ability to bring a profound authenticity to his roles.

In addition to his Broadway credits, Uranowitz has made notable appearances Off-Broadway and in regional theatre productions. His Off-Broadway performances include The Band’s Visit, where he captivated audiences with his portrayal of Itzik, and Torch Song, in which he delivered a compelling performance as Arnold Beckoff.

Uranowitz's talent extends beyond the stage, with television appearances in popular series such as Inside Amy Schumer and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
