The Play That Goes Wrong

The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is mounting a 1920s murder mystery, and absolutely everything that can go wrong does. The Play That Goes Wrong is Mischief's Olivier Award-winning farce, in which a collapsing set, missed cues, unconscious actors and a corpse that refuses to stay dead turn The Murder at Haversham Manor into a masterclass in comic catastrophe.

About

The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is mounting a 1920s murder mystery, and absolutely everything that can go wrong does. The Play That Goes Wrong is Mischief's Olivier Award-winning farce, in which a collapsing set, missed cues, unconscious actors and a corpse that refuses to stay dead turn The Murder at Haversham Manor into a masterclass in comic catastrophe.

Written by Mischief company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer & Henry Shields and directed by Mark Bell, the play opened on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre on April 2, 2017 and ran 745 performances through January 6, 2019, winning the 2017 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design in a Play for Nigel Hook. It transferred Off-Broadway to New World Stages in February 2019, where it continues to run.
